Does my newborn need both a sleep sack and a swaddle blanket?

I would say both.
I use both of them for my son.
the swaddler was GREAT when he was a newborn, it helped him sleep thru the night. It definitely calmed him down, and helped him settle down for the evening. Being that it keeps their hands close to their bodies, they wont startle, and wake themselves up. I absolutely loved this product. it was easier to use then a receiving blanket. Just some Velcro, and you have a baby burrito
As for the sleep sack, i use that now. I put my baby in a onesie, and the sack, and hes warm enough, but not too warm. My opinion, they will both come in very handy. I dont think you’d be disappointed.
